Summer Training

  • Starting Monday, June 1st, 2026 meeting Monday-Friday @ 7:00am

  • Trails 6:45am

  • 10-week Training fee $60

  • JXC Summer Camp @ Snow $150-$200-- Only for 9th-12th graders CLICK HERE to share your preliminary interest

  • Summer running schedule CLICK HERE

    • Dewey Bluth, Big Bear, Jordan River Trail, etc...

    • Agreed upon goals. Building to max miles

    • “Distance runners run distance”

  • Mileage Journal/Strava

    • Strava- Jordan XC Club

    • Report summer miles at the end of the week by email or parentsquare.

    • Girls- Coach Yates

    • Boys- Coach Shaw

    • Mileage Shirts- 100/300/400 miles over 10 weeks

    • Must have reported Mileage to be eligible for shirts

  • Mountain Runs

    • Wednesdays (Except week one)

    • Temple Quarry, Wrangler Trail, Hidden Valley

    • Buddy system
    • Log in/out

  • Cross Training
  • Weight Training will start June 9th, 2026 in the JHS Weight room
    • We will lift after running.

Be Prepared

  • Hydration and Nutrition CLICK HERE

  • Sleep

    • 8-10 hours a night

  • Injury Prevention

    • Drills, weightlifting, bands, rolling out, stretching

      • Small aches and pains are normal. Talk to us if they persist. 

  • Medical Conditions-Please let us know so we can be aware.
    • Asthma, diabetes, allergies, etc...
  • Safety
    • Using cross walks, headphones, run the designated route
  • Watch or other timing devices- Simple or GPS

  • High quality shoes

Season Eligibility

Season Officially Starts Aug. 1st

  • Create an account and complete all the steps on aktivate. CLICK HERE

    • Get this done ASAP

  • Pay the appropriate fee to the office (Participation, Uniform, and Spirit Pack )

    • Don’t worry about this yet

  • Have an up-to-date physical. PHYSICAL FORM HERE All pages must be completed.

    • Get this done ASAP

  • GPA from 4th quarter above 2.0, keeping good grades during the season, and no more than 1 failing grade. 

    • For more information go to the Jordan High Athletics webpage.

    • All of this needs to be done before you can compete.  Due August 1!

  • Running XC counts as a PE or PST credit. 


Spirit Pack- Pre-Order in late June


Uniform Info: 2 options for a uniform.  

  • If you have a uniform from last year you can use this uniform.

                $45 for a uniform which you can keep and use through the years.
